MARGAO: A group of Navelim citizens on Monday warned that they will be forced to stop plying of mining tracks on the Navelim Church-KRC station road if the drivers do not stop rash driving on the busy road.
Former MMC Chairperson Savio Coutinho, BJP Yuva morcha president Vishal Shetkar and others stopped a couple of ore-laden trucks near the district library after the trucks were found driving in a rash and negligent manner. “We had to stop the trucks to warn them not to drive in a rash manner. They are found overtaking each other, may be to get additional trips, but they are putting the lives of innocent people at risk”, remarked Coutinho as he warned that people of Navelim will not tolerate rash driving in the future.
“We are not against operation of the trucks, but at the same time, the trucks should not pose danger to the villagers”, he warned.
