VASCO: Goa Naval distributed essential commodities to the needy and poor people.
According to a press release, the Indian Navy is contributing towards efforts to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic and as a gesture of goodwill towards local populace under distress during the nationwide lockdown, Goa Naval Area undertook distribution of essential supplies on Wednesday.
The Goa Naval Area coordinated with the Councillor of Mangor Hill and distributed critical supplies to families of daily wage earners, migrant labourers and low income families at Gandhinagar, near Ayappa temple in Varunapuri. Around 1000 kg of essential provisions were distributed to 200 families.
In addition, 600 kgs of provisions were handed over to Milind Naik, Minister for Urban Development and Social Welfare, for distribution to families in need.
