PANJIM: The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB), Goa Sub Zone and Mumbai Zone has unearthed a drug syndicate involving a Goan woman, in Siolim-Bardez, who was involved in supplying various drugs to the consumers on the eve of New Year in North Goa.
The NCB has arrested two women — a Goan and a Nigerian and both are remanded to 14 days judicial custody.
Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede said that on the basis on an internal input regarding trafficking of MDMA and other illicit narcotics contraband, the team intercepted two lady drug traffickers on December 31, at Siolim.
The team seized 1.030kgs of marijuana, 49 tablets, 25gms of amphetamine, 2.2 gms of cocaine, one gm of MDMA powder along with vehicle.
“Initial investigation has revealed that one Goan woman used to supply MDMA and other drugs on behalf of other Nigerian woman, who was operating a drug syndicate,” said Wankhede.
He said that names of few other members of the syndicate including foreign national have been revealed and efforts are being made to apprehend them.
He said that the syndicate was active in supplying various forms of drugs to the consumers on the eve of New Year in North Goa.
