NCP calls for waiving utility bills for 2 months

VASCO: In view of the lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19 the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Goa-unit, President Jose Philip D’Souza, urged the government to waive off electricity and water bills for two months.

In a communiqué to PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar and Power Minister Nilesh Cabral, the farmer minister urged them to consider waiving off electricity and water bills for two months.

“Due to this pandemic, all sections of the society, rich as well as poor, are suffering a lot economically, mentally and physically. Due to the statewide lockdown many people who earn their bread and butter daily are at the receiving end,” he said.

“Many are out of money and have limited finance; therefore, it will be a helpful and supportive move to the people of Goa, in these testing times, if government considers waiving off the electricity and water bills of two months,” he wrote.
