TIVIM: Challenging Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to honour his ‘zero-tolerance’ to corruption assurance, NCP spokesman Trajano D’Mello on Thursday night alleged that the chief minister should conduct a probe regarding a minister who had allegedly grabbed land from the Serula Comunidade.
“While Parrikar claims to have a zero tolerance to corruption, he should appoint a retired High Court judge to head a commission only to look into the fraud at the Serula Comunidade. The NCP will then produce evidence before the commission to show how a minister has grabbed land of the comunidade,” said D’Mello, while addressing a largely attended gathering at Colvale to mark the 73rd birthday of NCP President Sharad Pawar.
NCP leader Jose Philip D’Souza reminded the State government to accord similar importance to investigating the sexual assault on the Vasco schoolgirl, as it did with Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal in the sexual assault case.
NCP State President Nilkant Harlankar said the NCP is keen to contest the Lok Sabha elections from North Goa in 2014.
“People are fed up with corruption and we need to go to the homes of the public and have a close interaction with the people,” he said
