Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today feigned ignorance on any settlement between the Congress and NCP high command at the Centre over the dropping of two ministers from the Cabinet.
The NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, during his visit to Belgaum last week, had told Herald that the Congress high command had agreed to drop two of his party ministers – Jose Philip D’Souza and Nilkanth Halarnkar to make way for Mickky Pacheco into the Digambar Kamat Cabinet.
Pawar was reacting to queries on the deadline set by the Mickky-led group in State NCP that had threatened to quit the party if their demands were not met.
However, when this query was posed to the chief minister, he simply replied “I am not aware of any such development”.
“The Congress high command has not communicated anything like that and hence I cannot comment on it”, he stated.
