He was speaking to reporters after inaugurating a free medical camp, organized by Vasco NCP Block Committee at Mangor-Hill here on Sunday. NCP state president Jose Philip D’Souza, women wing president Rakhi Naik, Parish Priest of St Andrew’s Church Vasco Rev Fr Gabriel Coutinho, NCP North Goa in charge Devanand Naik, spokesperson Avinash Bhosle, MMC Councillor Pascoal D’Souza and others were present at the function in which NCP leaders distributed wheel chairs, walkers and crutches to the physically challenged persons here.
“The forthcoming assembly elections in Goa are very crucial for all political parties including national and regional parties, NCP thus intends to form a third front in Goa with the help of regional parties to give voters an alternative to the BJP, Congress or even AAP. People are fed up with these national parties and thus, the third front is the need of the hour, however, we have decided not to include the communal BJP, Congress and even the AAP in the new front,” he said.
He further said “NCP conducted a survey and found that people of Goa were completely fed up with the parties which were controlled from Delhi. We feel all like-minded parties should come together under one umbrella and join a third front. We have started having discussions to form a third front and we are sure that the third front would be ready for the 2017 assembly elections and will also form the next government in Goa as local parties can solve local issues, much better than the national parties, including Congress, BJP or AAP,” he said.
NCP president D’Souza claimed that talks to form the third front were in the final stage and this new front would contest in all 40 assembly seats. He said people were fed up with the way BJP promised the moon but then betrayed the trust of Goans by taking a U-Turn on almost all the promises made to the people in the 2012 assembly election.
The NCP spokesperson Bhosle slammed the BJP government in the state for the failure in implementing Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) within schedule time.
