Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar pointed out to a large number of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers in the Forest department.
Speaking to a section of the media on Thursday, he justified the ‘serious need’ of IPS & IAS officers in Goa.
“We are in serious need of IAS and IPS officers. On the contrary, we have so many IFS officers in the Forest department at high position that it has affected promotion of local officers,” he said.
Parsekar, at a recent meeting with MoEF Minister Prakash Javdekar had requested to recall a few IFS officers from Goa so that it paves the way for local officers to get promotion. The State Forest Department has IFS officers at every level transferred to Goa.
