Goa common entrance test scheduled on May 7 and 8

PANJIM: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA), for admissions to medical, dental and Ayush programmes, will be held as per schedule on Sunday in Goa. 
Though, the National Student’s Union of India (NSUI), Goa Unit, had urged President of India seeking postponement of the examination owing to Fani cyclone, in Goa, the examination will be held as per schedule. The examinations in Odisha, which are affected by cyclone, are postponed. 
The Central Board of Secondary Education schools of Kendriya Vidyalayas in Goa will serve as centres for NEET, while details of total number of students answering was not available. 
The candidates will have to follow the dress code while appearing for the examination. The candidates are directed to wear light clothes with half sleeves and will have to wear slippers, sandals and low heels. Shoes are not allowed. 
The three-hour long paper will comprise questions from physics, chemistry and biology.
Meanwhile, the Goa common entrance test (GCET) would be held on May 7 and 8 for admissions to professional degree courses in engineering, pharmacy, nursing, etc. 
A total of 3400 students have registered for GCET exams, which will take place across 15 centres. 
The test will cover the subjects of physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology.
