MAPUSA: Even as the rain continues to displace people living in flood-prone areas of Goa’s hinterlands, villagers from Nachinola have come together to help a struggling neighbour.
With the roof of her home leaking and the house itself at the brink of collapse, Supriya Mhapsekar says she has just been through the worst week of her life.
“We can’t afford to fix our house, there is water leakage everywhere. I also care for my paralyzed relative who is forced to lie on the wet floor with water dripping onto him from the roof. His health and the health of my children are at risk,” says Mhapsekar. The struggling family has requested Aldona MLA for assistance to repair their home.
