MARGAO: Margao Town Police today arrested Prakash Pariyar alias Alex, native of Kathmandu, Nepal but presently residing near the Konkan Railway Station at Margao red handed as he was riding a scooter that was reported to have been stolen.
Gururaj Vaidya (45), a resident of Aquem, complained to the police that his Dio scooter that was parked near Viva Hotel close to Apollo Hospital was stolen. He said he had parked the scooter at around 12 noon and when he returned at 3.30 pm the scooter was missing.
Police checked the CCTV cameras and got a faint idea of the person who went away with the vehicle and launched a search for him. Prakash was arrested near Jyoti Plaza Hotel with the stolen scooter.
Police said that the accused was arrested thrice before in similar cases.
