PANJIM: In a bid to strengthen tourism ties with Goa, Consul General of Netherlands in Mumbai, Guido Tielman said he would explore possibilities of launching charter flights between Netherlands and Goa.
He said this during a discussion with Tourism Minister Manohar Azgaonkar on promotion of bi-lateral ties between Netherlands and Goa in tourism and sports.
Tielman said he would request travel agents from Netherlands to connect with Goa Tourism on the modalities for working out the air connect between the two tourism regions.
In a statement issued by Goa Tourism, Tielman said he will return with a mission to encourage people from Netherlands to visit Goa. Azgaonkar emphasised that Netherlands should promote Goa widely as a must visit tourism destination to which the Consul General appealed to him to support the promotion of Netherlands among Goans.
On the sports front, Tielman was impressed by Goa’s men’s football achievements and added that the game should be extended to women players and Netherlands would be willing to support budding Goan women football players with training and exhibition matches.
