SANGUEM: While on one hand, several schools and colleges in the State have started online classes, non-availability of internet connections in the remote villages have made the students and their parents a worried lot as they fear missing important classes.
Due to the poor internet connectivity in the village, villagers including the government officials visiting the village for any government-related projects are facing problems. Moreover, even banks are left helpless in providing quick service to the villagers on account of frequent disturbances in internet connectivity
However, in a humanitarian example of putting society above self, a family in the village has offered its own land for the installation of a BSNL tower to improve connectivity in Netravali and adjoining villages. The Prabhudessai family consisting of Arun and Rushab Prabhudessai have assured to allocate their land for the installation of a tower in the village.
The construction of the new tower will not only help the villagers from Netravali but the locals from the neighbouring Curdi- Wadem village as well.
Locals have in the recent past, raised the issue on several occasions with BSNL officials, but have complained of very tardy response from the public sector service provider.
Recently, one local Amit Naik met the Deputy General Manager of BSNL S C Vete, who told him that only a new tower in the village would solve the issue as the existing tower cannot handle the increasing load.
It is now for the BSNL to take the next step forward and begin with the process with the installation of a new tower and relieve the villagers from the long-standing problems of poor internet connectivity faced by the villagers.
