SANGUEM: The residents of Netravali and Wadem in Sanguem are literally sore over poor net connectivity despite the presence of BSNL’s full-fledged tower.
Poor net connectivity since last several months has affected the villager0s particularly school and college students as online classes have already commenced.
Ever since the commencement of online classes, the parents in Netravali and Wadem are worried over the net connectivity as the lone service provider in the village has “neglected” its services.
Amit Naik, a local, who has been complaining about the issue of poor net connectivity in the village for the past several months, said he is literally fed up as the authorities have failed to pay heed to the villagers’ complaints.
Naik said he even visited the Curchorem and Panjim offices of BSNL but in vain.
He urged Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to visit the two villages to take stock of the situation.
Due to poor internet connectivity, the students are reportedly moving to open space near the BSNL tower at Netravali for better connectivity in order to clear their online lessons for the day.
Now, it is common to see parents “driving” their children to open areas for better connectivity to get their day’s assignment completed.
Netravali villagers complained that only those residing close to the tower get internet connectivity, while those residing in the interiors are deprived of the same.
The villagers residing in the hilly areas of Verlem, Tudov and Salgini are worst affected as all the three wards lack mobile services.
Meanwhile, Sarvesh Gaonkar, a youth, who had ventured into business to provide online services in the village too has been affected.
The villagers have urged the BSNL authorities to make immediate arrangements to provide stable internet connectivity to the village.
