New CLP leader either on Sept 11 or 12: Patkar

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar said that Rahul Gandhi’s 3,570-km-long padyatra will pass through 10 States while the other States including Goa which will not be covered will chalk out separate programmes.

VASCO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar on Tuesday said that the new Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader will be elected either on September 11 or 12, in the presence of All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer and MP Mukul Wasnik.

Patkar, who returned from New Delhi after attending the AICC meetings to chalk out the programmes for the party’s ‘Halla Bol’ rally against price rise in Delhi on September 4 and MP Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kashmir to Kanyakumari starting from September 7, said that Wasnik would attend the CLP meeting and the new leader will be elected after ascertaining the views of all the party MLAs.

“A detailed programme will be announced in Goa on September 5,” he added.
