PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that the Rs 320 crore new signature Zuari Bridge will be thrown open to traffic before December this year.
Sawant said this after joining the final segment closure of the ongoing Zuari Bridge at Agasaim.

He said that the entire eight-lane bridge will be ready by March.
The new Zuari Bridge will be the second longest cable-stayed bridge in India, the Chief Minister said adding the government will also take up the construction of the new Borim Bridge.
PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral clarified that the revolving tower and restaurant were not part of the original design of the new Zuari Bridge and a tender will be shortly floated for it to be built on a PPP basis.
“This signature bridge will be an iconic one for Goa and would strengthen the infrastructure of the State,” he added.
Earlier, the centre closure span was lifted in the presence of the Chief Minister after performing the pooja.
The officials of Dilip Buildcon Limited, who are constructing the bridge and engineers of MoRTH and PWD were also present.
