MARGAO: New Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes on Monday took charge of the town’s civic administration.
The new chief officer vowed to make the administration and functioning of the MMC people-friendly especially for senior citizens, which includes special time for hearing their grievances and a WhatsApp helpline for providing solutions to their problems.
Fernandes informed that he would meet the senior citizens and public coming with their genuine grievances on Thursday and Friday between 12 pm and 1 pm in his office.
He said it is his effort to make the administration people-friendly.
Agnelo said he would try to speed up process with regards to House Tax, corrections in Birth Certificate, etc.
He has decided to make MMC accessible to the public especially for persons with disabilities (PwD).
The chief officer said he has also taken up the task to install the CCTV cameras in Margao with a few days and assured that MMC would carry out their annual maintenance.
He asked the general public to send their grievances to the WhatsApp number 7030910926 for solutions.
