There was also the highest number of ten deaths reported, all with co-morbidities. A 47-year-old man from Candolim was brought dead on Tuesday to PHC Siolim and was later found positive during the post-mortem. A 70-year-old man from Fatorda and a 76-yearold woman from Baina-Vasco admitted in GMC expired on August 31.
Further, a 36-year-old man from Vasco, a 55-year-old man from Mapusa, a 30-year-old man from Sao Jose de Areal, a 65-year-old man from Bicholim, a 53-year-old woman from Nerul, a 64-year-old man from Sanquelim, all admitted in GMC and a 45-year-old man from New Vaddem Vasco admitted in ESI hospital, were declared dead.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane admitted that there has been rise in the number of Covid deaths, which is attributed to delay in seeking medical help. “Many people, with co-morbid conditions, even after testing positive, wait for days to come to the hospital for medical help. This leads to complications and deaths,” he said.
Another 137 persons have been admitted in hospital isolation.
