A fleet of 60 KTCL buses, including big and mini buses along with electric buses and buggies, is scheduled to commence operations on various routes in and around Panaji from Monday 18th March 2024 as part of the Smart City project.
In the recent discussion meeting held on the developmental works of the smart city work Panjim MLA Atanasio Monserrate said that all the new buses including EV Buses will commence from Monday 18th March 2024 on the external Panjim route.
Panjim MLA Atanasio Monserrate announced the upcoming launch of the buses during a recent meeting on smart city development works. The buses will initially operate on external routes due to ongoing construction activities within the city. The routes covered include Panaji Bus Stand to Miramar, Dona Paula, Caranzalem, Bambolim, Goa University, Cujira, Taleigao, St. Inez, St. Cruz, and Altinho.
These buses, equipped with modern amenities, will be color-coded according to their routes. Additionally, they will introduce QR code ticketing for commuters, with proposed fare rates of Rs. 10 and Rs. 20. Despite the delay caused by the stop notice, efforts are underway to ensure a seamless and efficient public transportation system for residents and visitors alike.
