Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that as per the request of TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai the department is now scouting for premises to host the state-of-the-art laboratory around Margao.
“Initially we wanted to set it up at Asilo Mapusa but Sardesai’s request is that it be around Margao. I will be visiting Margao to see if we can accommodate the laboratory in some health premises there,” he said. He said he wants to take the thing forward urgently as the Centre will entirely fund it.
Rane also suggested that he personally feels there could be no adulteration in milk. “There are about 1.5 lakh litres of milk imported in the State and nobody has personally complained to me,” he said. Rane said the new lab will keep a check on all such thing be it milk, fish, fruit or vegetables.
