VASCO: Urban Development Minister Milind Naik has claimed that the newly arrived waste treatment machinery would treat around one lakh tonnes of solid waste at Solid Waste Treatment Plant site, Headland Sada, here.
“The work will be completed in a year and half,” he informed.
Speaking to the media, after the arrival of new solid waste treatment machine, Naik said the existing machinery was having less power and capacity as such new machinery was purchased to treat the waste quickly.
Naik informed that the new machinery can treat almost 300 tonnes of solid waste daily so that the piled up waste can be treated fast.
He also mentioned that to treat wet waste, two five-tonne capacity bio-digesters will be installed shortly which will further help Mormugao Municipal Council to treat wet waste daily.
