CURCHOREM: Curchorem MLA and Power Minister Nilesh Cabral assured to appoint a new president for Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) within a month.
He was speaking as a chief guest after releasing two Konkani books in Roman script during the function organised by Dolgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) in association with Kuddchodem Konknni Kendr (KKK) at Ravindra Bhavan auditorium, recently.
“I will speak to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude and try to appoint president within a month as it became defunct without a committee for more than year now,” assured Cabral.
“Koxttanche Vantte”, a book of 26 short stories written by Jess Fernandes from Quepem and “Godd-Ambott-Tikh”, a book of 50 essays written by William Fernandes from Curchorem published by DKA were released by Cabral in the presence of DKA President Tomazinho Cardozo, Secretary Vincy Quadros, Treasurer Celso Fernandes, former president Premanand Lolikar, Fausto V Da Costa and Irene Cardozo.
Praising the writers and DKA for publishing the books, he urged more people particularly youth to make habit of reading and writing the short stories, current affairs, essays etc so that it can be preserved for future generation to read the thoughts and ideas of our generation.
Earlier, Celso spoke on book “Koxttanche Vantte” and Walter Menezes spoke on “Godd-Ambott-Tikh”. Celso welcomed while Brenda Menezes compered and Vassalo Carvalho proposed the vote of thanks.
