PANJIM: A new regional political front called Niz Goenkar Party was formed on Wednesday. It urged citizens to support the sons of the soil rather than supporting national parties that don’t understand the core issues of Goans.
Addressing the media, Niz Goenkar Party member, Domnic Fernandes said the party will look after aspects where Goans have problems, including casinos which they object to.
“BJP, Congress and AAP are into vote bank politics and want to divide and rule Goa, while Niz Goenkar Party is for Goans and by Goans and in the coming elections the party is going to field candidates in 35 constituencies,” Fernandes said.
Stating that their main agenda will be saving the interests of the people of Goa, he said they will take a strong stand on casinos and Medium of Instruction (MoI). The party supports Konkani as compulsory in primary schooling.
