VASCO: New sewerage inline network project worth around Rs 2.16 crore was launched by Urban Development Minister Milind Naik in presence of Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida and others, on Tuesday.

Naik said sewerage pipeline network will benefit most of the households from Mangor locality, which were deprived of this facility before.

Naik after commencement of this work informed media that this project will be done by utilising new trenchless technology wherein there won’t be deep excavation of the ground. This line will benefit many households from various areas of Vasco which will help in smooth movement of sewage  waste.

He further said that this project is taken up under Swach Bharat initiative which is worth Rs 2.16 crore. Under this project, new bigger pipelines will be placed while replacing the old smaller pipes which were problematic.

Vasco MLA Almeida said that the sewer lines from Urvashi Hotel to Khariwado Road 152 metres, Shree Ambabai Temple to Hanuman Temple Road 204 metres and from State Bank of India to Avisha Residency 172 metres will be replaced.

He also said that he is very happy to see that government has sanctioned the amount for this project and it is being done in the presence of Urban Development Minister.

When contacted, Councillor Pascoal D’Souza said that before the residents here had faced choking of sewerage line and coming up of such project will definitely benefit the locals.

He urged the locals to make the best use of this opportunity to take sewerage line connection if they need.
