PONDA: A recently constructed gutter in Undir collapsed, when a truck carrying mud went over it and got caught in the collapsed gutter. The incident has raised questions about the quality of the construction, prompting local residents to demand urgent action and thorough investigation.
The gutter, which had been completed a mere two months ago, gave way unexpectedly, laying bare the alleged substandard workmanship that went into its creation. The overall development in Undir is poor with roads left in a dilapidated and distressing state.
Undir locals have grown increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress on these ongoing development initiatives, including sewerage upgrades and the installation of underground power cabling. The simultaneous execution of these projects has aggravated the situation, as the roads are repeatedly excavated and left in a state of disrepair, causing immense inconvenience and hardship to the community.
A spokesperson for the Undir residents pointed out that the road’s width has been significantly reduced due to the ongoing power cabling work, leading to traffic congestion that can extend travel times by as much as half to a full hour during peak hours.
