MAPUSA: Newly elected Mapusa Municipal Council Chairperson Shubhangi Vaingankar, Vice Chairperson Chandrashekhar Benkar, councillors along with President of Mapusa Merchant Association Ashish Shirodkar and other merchants visited the Mapusa municipal market.
During the visit, the chairperson inspected the status of market including the two toilet facilities which are not in working condition for the past several years.
Newly elected Chairperson Vaingankar assured to take up the work of the two toilets on priority basis.
“There are several issues in the municipal market. One of them is the two toilets. Files of these particular projects are taken up and are under study. Work of the toilets will be taken up on priority basis,” said Vaigankar.
The chairperson also observed that the shop owners in the market are very well adhering to the COVID norms. However, as per the requests made by the merchants to allow them to keep shops open till 1 pm, Shubhangi informed that she will discuss this matter with the Mapusa MLA and officials of North Goa Collectorate and take the decision.
