MARGAO: The dead body of a female that was recovered from a well at Goroti-Nuvem on July 6 by Maina-Curtorim police has been identified as that of Rajeshree C Bandodker, a resident of Ugassaim, Bardez who was reported missing on June 27. The report on the cause of death has been reserved by the doctor. Meanwhile investigating officer PSI Umakant Naik has recorded the statement of the husband of the deceased who is learnt to have stated that his wife was disturbed over some financial matter.
Theft at Mapusa office
MAPUSA: Laptop, watches and cash worth a combined Rs 1.80 lakh were stolen from a business outlet at Peddem-Mapusa. According to Mapusa Police, Tarak Arolkar of Saieccha Developer and Construction, Vincy Plaza, Peddem-Mapusa, complained that some person entered into his business outlet and decamped with laptop, watches and cash, all worth Rs 1.80 lakh.
Man abducted at Guirim
MAPUSA: A 40-year-old man was abducted from his residence at Vanciowada-Guirim.
According to Mapusa Police, Ranjeeta Chari of Vanciowada complained that some person abducted her husband, Viraj, from their residence.
Britona woman dies in accident
PORVORIM: A 62-yearold female scooter rider from Britona died after a car knocked her down along the national highway near Sai Service at Porvorim on Thursday morning. According to Porvorim Police, a Chevrolet car (GA-08-F-7914) while proceeding from Mapusa to Panjim dashed against the scooter (GA-03-A-5678), which was proceeding in the same direction. As a result, the scooter rider, Roshan Lotlikar, sustained grievous injuries and died on way to GMC Bambolim.

Poetry book release on July 13
PANJIM: A collection of Konkani poems in book form, written by Dr Ulhas Nasnodkar, titled, ‘Padbimba’ (Reflections) will be released by Union Minister for Tourism, Shripad Naik, at Hotel Fidalgo, on July 13, at 5 pm. Prakash Padgaokar will speak on the poems, while Adv Udai Bhembre will be the guest of honor. The function has been jointly organised by Rudra publications – the publisher of the book and Konkani Lekhak Sangh.
