NGO caring for stray dogs

PONDA: Administrator of People for Animals, an NGO based at Curti-Ponda, Tejas Naik has said that their organisation is sterilising the stray dogs and providing them treatment when injured.
“When people call us, we visit the place, collect the injured dogs, bring them to our shelter at Curti and provide medical treatment. After treating them for a few days, we release them to the same spot from where we had collected them,” he said.
“Six village panchayats and Ponda Municipal Council have made agreement with us for sterilising stray animals so that their population is controlled. We also provide anti-rabies vaccination before releasing the stray dogs to their area from where they were picked up,” said Tejas.
