PANJIM: United Goans Foundation (UGF) has filed a complaint against Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Speaker Pramod Sawant, former Panjim MLA Siddharth Kuncalienkar and GSIDC for allegedly illegally awarding consultancy for interior works of Spaces building at Patto.
The complaint filed with Vigilance Department and Goa Police has sought the immediate registration of an FIR as the NGO claims it has evidence to prove the alleged scam.
“Since the evidence is based on RTI documents, filing of FIR becomes pertinent and doesn’t need preliminary inquiry of IO (investigating officer), hence FIR should be filed immediately as per laid down law,” activist Swati Kerkar said.
The NGO has also sought action under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Indian Penal Code against the then GSIDC Managing Director Sanjith Rodrigues, Manager (Civil) Sudesh Sangodkar, GSIDC empanelled architect and interior designer Ameet Sukhtankar and GSIDC contractor Knchan Associates.
Kerkar said they will also petition Governor Mridula Sinha seeking her intervention. A senior IPS officer told Herald they have not yet registered an FIR.
