MARGAO: Bailancho Ekvott President Auda Viegas along with Swati Shet Kerkar on Friday lodged a complaint with the Margao Town Police against a Russian woman they had assisted earlier in 2013 in getting a rape case registered.
Briefing media persons, Viegas said in 2013 when police were not taking any action with the various complaints the Russian lady and her friend had lodged with the police, they had intervened and finally a rape case was registered and even tried.
“However, the said Russian lady withdrew her complaint after the accused paid her 500 dollars and I have evidence of this with me,” she said adding that it appears that the lady has made it a habit of filing false complaints of rape against people.
Auda disclosed that the same lady has now lodged a complaint of rape against a Panjim-based lawyer, who is the son-in-law of the person accused of committing the earlier rape.
