CALANGUTE: Following the riotous scenes on Tuesday at the Calangute panchayat ghar, an organisation named Goenchi Nari Shakti and Karni Sena has filed a criminal complaint against Calangute sarpanch Joseph Sequeira and others for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, instigating and provoking peaceful and harmonious ShivPremis as well as other members of Hindu community.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when a large mob of ShivPremis gathered at the panchayat office, brandishing saffron flags adorned with images of Chhatrapati Shivaji protesting against the decision to remove a recently installed statue.
