PONDA: NGO Matrubumi Goa opposed the Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill passed. Declaring an illegal dweller as “Bhumiputra” (Son of Soil) is an insult to real sons of this soil said the Matrubumi Goa.
Matrubumi Goa president Vinod Borkar said “The Bill is an attempt to regularise all illegal structures on government lands, Communidade lands and even private properties. All migrants who had illegally encroached upon such properties would become Bhumiputras. So we demand to withdraw the Bill in interest of the Goans.”
