Vasco: A Vasco-based NGO Goa First has written a letter to the Deputy Collector of Mormugao complaining about the poor condition of the statues and monuments of national leaders in Mormugao taluka.
In their letter, Goa First said, “There is absolutely no cleanliness and hygiene maintained at the site, no patrolling of police near these statues and anti-social elements try to take advantage of such a situation and make such places as here den and do anti social activities. Large number of empty bottles, cigarette buds, tobacco buds and plastic waste can be seen inside the premises, and this brings shame onto the authorities for its inability to maintain respect and honor of these great leaders and it’s hurting the overall society as these leaders have sacrificed their lives for our betterment and our nation.”
