PONDA: Matruchhaya, an NGO working for orphaned, destitute and abandoned children at Dhavali-Kavlem has called upon the people to provide information on kids orphaned due to pandemic.
Addressing media persons, the officials said, “Matruchhaya is ready to shoulder responsibility of orphaned children by providing them a normal childhood.”
Dr Subash Bhosle, chief of Matruchaya Balika Asram, Dhavali; Sagar Sakordekar, chief of Matruchhaya Bala Kalyan Ashram, Talaulim-Ponda, and Surendra Naik, chief of Matruchhaya Balika Kalyan Ashram, Margao were present.
Dr Bhosle said, “The two waves of COVID pandemic have rendered many children orphaned. We request the people to identify the vulnerable families, who have children and have lost their livelihood due to COVID 19 or if any child is found to have lost parents to COVID-19 with no one to look after them. Under such situation, people can bring it to the notice or produce such child before the Child Welfare Committee, Government of Goa or Matruchhaya.”
He said, “We, at Matruchhaya are always ready to provide a normal childhood to orphaned and destitute children whose parents cannot take care of them due to genuine reasons.”
