PANJIM: NGO Hope Foundation has sought vigilance inquiry into postings of a few police constables, who although transferred to other police stations/units have unofficially refused to take over their new charge.
NGO President Andrea Pereira has alleged that an order dated January 25, 2021 transferring four Head Constables and 11 Police Constables is completely biased and against the rules of Police Establishment Board.
“I want to mention here, most of these transferred personnel are having controversial background (at the said Police Station) and they were recently transferred from the respective Police Stations where they have been transferred back with the above mentioned transfer order. There are some HC/PC who had not even been relieved from the Police Station after the earlier transfer order but shockingly with the said mentioned transfer order they have retained the same posting,” she said in a letter to Chief Secretary Parimal Rai, who also holds the portfolio of Chief Vigilance Officer.
“It is very shocking to learn, how the constables can manage themselves to get the desired posting and manage to take transfer at the same places again and again. There are some constables in the transfer order who have strong allegation against them and their names are even linked with matka and other illegal trade in South Goa,” Pereira further alleged.
In view of the above, the NGO has sought an inquiry into the January 25, 2021 transfer order ‘which will clear the doubts and also reveal how the constables spend maximum tenure at their favourite Police station.’
