PANJIM: As a prelude to the BRICS summit in Goa, various NGOs and civil society groups will host four days of workshops to gather suggestions and recommendations from the people on issues being ignored by the summit scheduled between October 15 and 16. “The group will connect to local voices and concerns of Goa to the global scenario and critically engage with BRICS in this endeavour,” Albertina Almeida from Social Justice Action Committee said on Wednesday. “PF will attempt to raise critical voices from below on social, ecological, political and economic concerns that are often ignored at big summits such as BRICS,” Almeida said. The forum has organized events on October 1, 3, 7 and 12 in Panjim. Almeida said the recommendations will be sent to the External Affairs Ministry.
She said the PF is a collective effort of people’s movements, networks and civil society organizations from across India.
