PANJIM: Following government directions, the North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) has decided to redraft outline development plan (ODP) for Panjim and Mapusa planning and development authority (PDAs).
During its board meeting held on Thursday under chairmanship of Michael Lobo, NGPDA resolved to draft fresh ODP following proper procedures as stipulated by the government which makes it mandatory to have land-use map and registry prepared first.
Sources revealed that the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department has issued directions to NGPDA for preparing fresh ODPs for Panjim and Mapusa, which were de-notified last year for failing to adopt the procedure.
TCP board under Minister Vijai Sardesai during its 163rd meeting held in August had decided to prepare new ODPs for Panajim and Mapusa PDAs.
The Board had also approved standard procedure for drafting ODPs for all the PDAs and accordingly, Vasco, Mapusa and Panjim were asked to redraft their plans. “The PDAs were not following the procedure as mandated in the TCP Act. Some were not preparing land use plan and register. Hence, we have now set the standard procedure for all,” Sardesai had said.
