NGT  cancels bailable warrants

GCZMA member secretary asked to be present in person on July 9 when the matter would be heard again.

PANJIM: The National Green Tribunal (NGT), Pune, has cancelled a bailable warrant issued against Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) members Raghunath Dhume and Savita Kerkar on an application pointing out continued illegalities committed by a trust at Cavelossim within the no development zone area towards River Sal. 
“The bailable warrant is cancelled,” the order passed by Justice V R Kingaonkar and Dr Ajay Deshpande, reads. 
However, the member secretary of Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has been asked to be present in person along with the expert members- Dhume and Kerkar on July 9, when the matter would be heard again. 
The warrant was cancelled after both the members filed their affidavits and applications seeking cancellation of bailable warrant. 
In his affidavit to the NGT, applicant Iris Passana alleged that “the illegalities committed by Shree Champions Family Trust within the NDZ area are gross violations of the CRZ Regulations 2011 and the GCZMA failed to take any action”.
