MAYEM: North Goa Truck Owners Association (NGTOA) has stated that the State government has totally failed to keep its promise to start mining in the State.
Addressing a news conference at Honda, North Goa Truck Owners Association President Mahesh Gawas said a public meeting will be organised at Pali Panchayat hall on December 27 at 3.30 pm to discuss the future course of action.
Gawas came down heavily on the government, as it had failed to keep the promise of clearing its stand by December 10.
“As the mining dependent people are facing financial burden, anything can happen and the government will be blamed if any untoward incident takes place,” warned Gawas.
“Former chief minister Manohar Parrikar and his team and new Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and his team have totally neglected the mining dependents and now they are facing huge crisis and depression,” he said.
“We don’t know when the government will start mining operations and how the dependents will survive. The government is giving us false promises and dates, but now we will not tolerate this anymore,” he said.
Sandeep Parab, Suresh Dessai, Shyam Gaonthankar and others were present.
