NHAI slammed for neglecting road depression

VASCO: The Dabolim Block Congress committee on Saturday slammed the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials for neglecting to take up repairs of depression in the four lane road near INS Hansa main gate.

The Congress has, therefore, demanded that NHAI officials should repair the road within 10 days’ time, failing which, it said, it would be compelled to protest against NHAI for leaving road users to risks.
Dabolim Congress Block President Francisco Nunes told reporters that a potion of road opposite INS Hansa gate was excavated to construct concrete pillars for a grade separator project, however, after completion of the work, the excavated portion was poorly tarred due to which, a depression developed.
Dabolim Congress Block President Francisco Nunes told reporters that the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) had initiated the construction of grade separator which would provide separate access to the Dabolim airport. He said that while taking up said work, the contractor excavated a potion of road median as well as portion of road right opposite INS Hansa gate to construct concrete pillars for the grade separator project, however, after completion of concrete pillar, the excavated portion of road was poorly covered and tarred due to which, the portion of road witnessed depression covering one full lane of four lane road on both sides of the four lane road.
