Nigerian killed by countryman in Arambol

Stabbed twice in the back; One arrested, another on the run

PANJIM: A Nigerian national was killed, after he was stabbed twice by another Nigerian, at Girkarwada, Arambol on Saturday.
According to sources at Pernem Police Station, four Nigerians were at Girkarwada near a banyan tree on the path leading to the beach, when two of them clashed at about 5.30 pm. Sources said that one of the Nigerians stabbed the other twice in the back. Police said the deceased has been identified as Prince Ekene (aged around 26 to 28) from Nigeria.
Pernem Police Inspector Sandesh Chodankar said that following a complaint from Johny Young Ekikhaile, former head of the Nigerian community in Goa, an offence has been registered against the two Nigerian nationals King Fley alias K C and Agu Frank Godwin. He said that police have arrested Godwin while Fley is on the run.
Sources said there were four persons at the site and an argument between them sparked tension leading to the stabbing.
Following the stabbing two of the Nigerians took the victim by car to a private hospital at Anjuna and then left the hospital. Doctors at the hospital declared the victim dead on arrival.
Pernem police reached the crime site at Arambol and detained one of the Nigerians and later another. Police are in search of the two persons who brought the victim to the hospital. Investigations are on.
