MAPUSA: The Fast Track court rejected the bail application of a Nigerian national in an NDPS case on Friday.
The 35-year-old Nigerian, Sunday Kamah Onyemcchi, who was arrested by Anti-Narcotic Cell for possessing 50 grams of cocaine worth Rs 5 lakh had applied for bail before the Fast Track court, where Judge Bela Naik rejected his bail application.
During the investigation it was revealed that the Nigerian national had come to Goa in 2012 on a business visa and was since over-staying in a rented house at Morjim.
Kiran Paliencar argued on behalf of the accused, while Sunita Nagvekar was public prosecutor.
said the accused was found overstaying in Goa and was booked for the same, but even after receiving bail in the overstaying case, he committed the crime.
Nagvekar further said that if his bail was granted there was no possibility of tracing him, as he had no permanent address. Besides, there was also a possibility that he would threaten the witness.
