MAPUSA: The Anjuna police arrested one Siraj Ahmed Shiakh, 38, a native of Mumbai and recovered nine high-tech mobile handsets which he had stolen at the Sunburn party venue.
Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi stated that many mobiles were stolen from the party venue and since most of the complainants were tourists, they did not want to register FIRs but took missing certificates for obtaining new SIM cards instead. The tourists requested the police to recover the stolen mobile phones.
The Anjuna police the registered an FIR on behalf of the State under section 379 IPC against the unknown accused for robbing mobile phones from people who attended the Sunburn event.
