PANJIM: Even as the expert doctors from AIIMS visited the COVID-19 facilities in the State to make suggestions on preventing fatalities, Goa reported nine more deaths due to the virus on Tuesday.
As the death toll reached 157, taking the fatality rate to 1.08 per cent, Goa also saw 392 new cases and 315 recoveries.
The confirmed cases now stand at 14,530 while recoveries are 11,224. The recovery rate is 77.24 per cent.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said the State’s priority is to save lives by preventing fatalities. “The AIIMS team was taken to GMC and ESI hospital with the sole intention of making suggestion on the line of treatment and facilities. They were happy with the facilities State has,” he said.
Amongst the victims were four persons between the aged of 49 and 52 years while one was of 64 years and four were above 70.
The health bulletin says a 52-year-old man from Dharbandora, a 49 year-old woman from Mangor Hill- Vasco, a 52-year-old man from Pernem, admitted at Goa Medical College & Hospital, with co-morbid conditions expired on Monday, while a 70-year-old man from Pernem, admitted at Goa Medical College & Hospital, with co-morbid conditions expired on Tuesday.
Besides, this, a 73-year-old man from Merces, admitted at Goa Medical College & Hospital, expired on Tuesday, while a 73-year-old man from Borim, a 64-year-old man from Chandor and a 50-year-old man from Mangor Hill-Vasco admitted at ESI hospital, with co-morbid conditions expired on Monday. A 72-year-old man from Malbhat-Margao, admitted at ESI hospital, with co-morbid conditions expired on Tuesday.
