NIT confers honorary doctorate on CM

PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday was conferred with an honorary doctorate degree by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Goa, for his massive contribution to the state and the country as a whole.
The honorary doctorate degree was handed over by Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu and received by the NIT Goa Director G. Mugeraya due to his absence. 
“Manohar Parrikar is one of the best political leaders of the country. Manohar, as I could see from earlier days to now, is one of the exemplary characters. Honest, disciplined, very innovative and how could a man who was the Defence Minister of the country leave the post to become the Chief Minister of his own state.” Naidu said
He said, “Goa, you know the size of the state but still due to his love for his native place, he came back as the chief minister to serve his people.”
The Vice President also wished Chief Minister Parrikar a good health and a speedy recovery.
It can be recalled that, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for further treatment.
