NIT unveiling photo is stage managed: Cong

PANJIM: The Congress party has accused the BJP of a ‘stage managed’ photo of the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar unveiling the foundation stone for the Goa NIT Complex at his Dona Paula residence. Party President Girish Chodankar said it was a desperate attempt of the government to influence the High Court that is hearing a petition on Parrikar’s health.
“It is clearly stage managed with an ulterior motive as the High Court is hearing a Public Interest Litigation challenging CM’s capability to run the State administration. This photo is to influence the court,” he alleged as he took a dig at the BJP to go to any extend to remain in power.
“When he needs rest, the BJP is parading him to remain in power. It is very disgraceful,” he commented.
Commenting on the petition, Chodankar said that he supports Parrikar’s privacy as an individual but since he is the CM of the State, it is the right of the citizens to know his health status.  The court, that concluded hearing the petitioner and the State government last week, has reserved the petition for verdict.
