Goa Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane has declared that there are no active flames in the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary. All locations with potential recurrences are being closely monitored he said.
In a tweet on Tuesday Rane said, “We no longer have any active flames as of right now. To be safe, the extinguished fire locations are being closely watched to look for recurrence. Any locations with a potential for recurrences, such as Derodem, Surla and Mhadei are being constantly monitored. More than 400 personnel and volunteers worked to put out the fires”.
