MARGAO: While Maina Curtorim Police have registered a case against Piedade Fernandes, wife of Loutolim Sarpanch Inacinho Fernandes for criminal intimidation, assault and abusing with filthy language a member of the panchayat Maria Monteiro, no criminal case has been filed against Monteiro.
PI Pravinkumar Vast admitted that Piedade Fernandes had filed a counter complaint but said the same could not be registered as a case as there was no case of trespass into her property by Maria Monteiro.
“Since Maria had complained to the Health Officials she was duty bound to take them to the site,” he said adding that such acts cannot be termed as trespass as alleged by Fernandes in her complaint.
