PANJIM: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that the upcoming 2022 elections in Goa are going to start a revolution.

“The upcoming elections are not going to be an ordinary one but will bring a revolution. It will be the start of a new beginning. Goa will be free from corrupt forces, this time all divine forces are coming together and something good is going to happen,” Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal, praising the efforts put in by Goa AAP leader Amit Palekar said, “The move is to clean the corrupt politics. AAP represents honest politics and the move and aim is to clean Goa’s corrupt politics. If we do so, that will be the victory of people of Goa.”

Meanwhile, in another interesting remark, the former Delhi CM said that in Goa one becomes the Chief Minister only by paying bribes.

Kejriwal, who arrived in Goa on Saturday afternoon, met Palekar, who was on a five-day hunger strike protesting the illegal structure that has come up in the protected area of the Old Goa heritage site.

“You are well versed with Goa politics, here one becomes a Chief Minister by giving or taking Rs 100 cr and not by keeping a five-day fast,” Kejriwal said, when asked whether Palekar would be the AAP CM face for the 2022 elections.

“If you can buy and sell so many candidates, or tickets, or MLAs, you tend to become CM. Has anyone become CM by keeping a five-day fast? By fasting, we can only clean the dirty politics,” Kejriwal said adding that ‘the decision on CM candidate would be taken at the appropriate time’.

Talking about horse-trading of MLAs, Kejriwal said, “You are buying MLAs by paying Rs five crore, Rs ten crore. For money, they are going from here to there.”
