PANJIM: The government on Saturday informed that no Delta Plus variant has been reported in the State so far.
As per the test samples received from the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, no Delta Plus variant has been detected.
The State is on high alert after the highly transmissible COVID strain has been reported in neighbouring State’s districts and other part of the country. Each fortnight, the samples of COVID patients are sent for genome sequencing to the Pune laboratory.
The latest set of results of the samples that arrived in Goa, 44 samples were detected to be of Delta variant.
